A heated discussion on 'Race, Gender & the Blues'

Not wanting to take part in the c&w discussion more than to say that
there was never a general interest in country music within the black
community. As there has been for blues among the white audience. As for
gender, it is far too easy for a white woman to be called a top class
blues musician these days. Bonnie Raitt is AOR and Ana Popovic is heavy
metal. Real blues ladies are luckily still around and we have great
examples like Demetria Taylor, Shemekia Copeland and Fiona Boyes.
