'It can't be done' - How a musician and composer feels about the jazz scene and developing an audience

My son makes a living as a jazz musician. As is, it's amazing how
much time in that career goes into what might be called
"administrative" parts of the work, but he practices and rehearses
for hours and hours and hours  every day. I don't think he could do
it with a day job too.
