I would like to believe that ur wrong Scott.I can only speak for myself.Don't lose faith or judge that the current and weeding out of "We know we have been published as heavy metal, but we really meant (Blues) sic".I really have faith in the young folk trying they're enterpitations of Blues genre. When the ka…ching slows, they may settle into a slot.
Traditional Blues is something that will never change. It has that lifeforce of its own.Theirs to much of the goodfolk who will educate all on traditional Blues. The selfless dedication and work of "Barrelhouse Bonnie" and her efforts,Valerie Johnson and Santa Barbera BPS,Dallas BPS,and I'm sure many Im not able to remember.
Have faith in the folk, and Every member of Blue's-list.Also the fact that we have the greatest nation made of many unique cultures who left alone, will correct the biassed, and like a freakshow, put them as a ghosthouse at state fairs as an ugly curiosity.Or encapsulate them like a cyst, and put their nasty selves up as a lump that is annoyingly there.Annoying but contained.I would like to believe this is the future.Morn enough said by my patriotic optimism for future youth, self.
As a Brother in Blues,
Mark Schossow.
If you dun paid ur dues,
then you can say you know

I have not payed much attention to the awards for the last year or two. They at least got it right with the Chicago Blues living history record...otherwise the awards are pretty irrelevant . It is more of a time to see some friends you don't see much but the awards at least to me say a lot more about the fan base that votes(if that's how the awards are really chosen) than actual musical content. I mean Derek Trucks does not consider himself a blues artist and he wins over say Lurrie Bell....it's all about the fan base of today's blues scene and it's not a fan base I think has much knowledge or appreciation of the genre.
