Phillip had a great band (give or take the slamming drummer).  He's very
missed.

This was Percy's last recordings and Phillip produced this.  One of the
great, unknown, top-drawer albums of all time, imho (and yes, I did talk to
Phillip about this particular recording at some length the last time I saw
him).  Phillip always had a top notch band, too.  His last band had Joe
Campbell on trumpet (Little Milton's nephew), James Broadway Thomas on bass
(one time bassist/vocalist with the Johnny Otis Show), and so on.  I do miss
that man. - t

Percy still had it all together--and going on--even in his later
years. Here he is delivering the goods with the ease and casualness
most performers can only dream about. Dig those hey, hey, heys he
drops in there along with some other well placed asides. Also a tip of
the hat to the performance of Phillip Walker and his band, they do a
FINE job.
