Mississippi to consider entertainment districts

Can't happen without another change in the law,

Current law is that the casino has to be a boat in a navigable part of the Mississippi River, or within 800 feet of the Gulf of Mexico. They also have to be in a county that has approved casino gambling. I don't know of any local initiatives to approve gambling in any counties outside the current ones.  Recent changes have been vigorously opposed by the casino industry.

The Choctaw casinos are on tribal lands and are exempted from those restrictions.
