And had not the Memphis Mafia not collectively been such enablers and
actually helped him.

Before the army, he was the best rock and roller ever - he got it, he
understood it like no one else, before or since.

Just listen to the blues he remade - he made them into different songs:
"That's All Right Mama", "Good Rockin' Tonite", "I Want to Play House With
You", "Mystery Train" - the originals were great blues - Elvis' versions
were great R&R.
