Roy Carrier was in town last night. Roy is probably my favorite zydeco
artist--mostly because he's such a pro and because he always plays a healthy
mix of blues and r and b material. I couldn't help but notice last night
that there was a discernible effect on the audience when he started into
Jimmy Reed's "Baby, What You Want Me To Do?" I'm not sure that I would
have noticed but for the discussion that has been going on on the list for
last few days. It may be simple, but it is powerful music that seems to
have a visceral impact on an audience...and you can dance to it, Mr. Clark,
I give it a 98.
We have EG Kight tomorrow night. I'll be watching to see if she does any JR
material.
