Great point about volume and timing! I had never thought of it in those
terms but you are absolutely correct.
Speaking of great drummers who live in the Bay Area, I have to mention
June Core who's been playing with Charlie Musselwhite for a few years
now- the word that comes to my mind is "organic" and it is always a
treat to watch him and listen to him play. He played in Wendy DeWitt's
band in Redwood City last week and put a "second line" New Orleans beat
to the tired old workhorse "Sweet Home Chicago", giving it a whole new
lease on life.

P.S. I love to see and hear good drumming, but I think that my education
on the matter started and ended with Bam Bam on the Flintstones... <g>
