Living Blues "Critics Choice" Award

Hey Ever'body,

I've been traveling a lot lately, and I just got around to reading the Living Blues issue with Nappy Brown on the cover.  I was surprised to see that my musical partner, Jackie Payne, had won the Living Blues Critic's Choice Award for Comeback Artist of the Year for 2007.  This was the first that I had heard about Jackie getting the award.  I was happy to see that Jackie got the recognition, so I called Jackie to tell him about it.  He was thrilled at being acknowledged, but added that he didn't know that he had gone anywhere to come back from...LOL!  That reminded me of something that happened when we were performing at the recent Long Beach Blues Festival.  We were signing autographs after the show when a couple walked up and commented on the critical success of our "Master of the Game" CD.  They then asked Jackie what it felt like to be an overnight sensation, to which he responded, "it's been a hell of a long night!"

Jackie and I have been busy writing songs and rehearsing in preparation for going back in the studio to record our next Delta Groove CD, which is scheduled for release in early 2008.  We are very excited about the new CD, which will feature some very special guests...keep your eyes (and ears) peeled.
