I think that is probably close to the norm. (Although every agent I talk to
insists that their talent never works for less than $2500.) Out of town
bands can usually pick up another hundred or so in tips and cd sales if
there is no cover charge.  

It would be interesting to hear from some other locales.  The music is
certainly worth more, but I don't think the traffic will bear it.

For a blues artist that is good money. Here in Dallas you're lucky to get
$400 and $300 is the norm 
for a weekend gig. Since I have moved here in '91 the pay has gone down.
