On this day in 1959, Alan Lomax first recorded the fife and drum music of 
the Young family, consisting of Lonnie Young Sr. - vocals/bass drum, Ed 
Young - fife, and Lonnie Young Jr.- snare drum, in Como, Mississippi.

On this day in 1959, "Sleep Walk" by Santo & Johnny peaked at #1 on the pop 
singles chart.

On this day in 1982, the album by Zapp called "Zapp II" was certified Gold 
by the RIAA.
