HOST COMMENTS:   I did catch Blue Max at the Midtown Tavern Friday night.
Hard rockin' blues, as always. I also caught Mick Sterling and Kevin Bowe out
at LeMay's on Saturday night. Hadn't seen them perform as a pair before. They
were very good. A seven piece band, in all.
It is quiet this holiday weekend, but there is Katy Young and Barrelhouse
at the Sugar Room Friday night. They do material that qualifies as old-time
blues, in part. And in just a few hour we have the annual Turkey Trot with
the Lost Walleye Orchestra. You know the story -- they don't play the blues
but.... This year the gig is at the Wine Cafe.
The new Blues Before Monday T-shirts featuring a picture of the White
Bread Blues Boys have arrived. Everybody likes them. Some lucky owners have
expressed surprise at how innocent the Boys once looked. If you don't have one
heading your way yet, call the station at 800-456-7810 and see what you need to
do to get one. A very limited supply -- for this pressing, at least.
