Hiya everybody....greetingz and glad to be able to say we lived up to our reputation and definately had the ‘BEST JAM IN THE NW’ on Thursday nite at the Trask brewery in beautiful downtown Historic McMinnville, Oregon to an audience of around 100 music lovers made up of some good looking gals, quite a few hip guys, mostly students from Linfield college, local fans and music lovers, and some really fine musicians! The show was kicked off about 9pm by host Rob with acoustic guitar and vocals, who did several of his own compositions and covers for about 30 minutes. Then he gave up the stage to a nice young man, who’s name escapes the writer, who was entertaining everyone for about another 30 minutes with some folk-type stuff on acoustic guitar and vocals and even played the harmonica a bit! Then after a short break Mcminnville’s own Blues/rocker gal Amie Marshall stepped to the microphone and did acapella versions of Janis Joplin’s "Mercedes Benz" and segued into "Get It While Y
 ou Can"
to the utter delight of a captivated audience! Ms. Marshall then slung on her fine Dean electric guitar and did close to an hour of blues/rocker tunes with a nice trio of musicians that included Dan Seymour on electric bass, host Rob on electric acoustic and drummer Marshall Roote! She opened with Jewel’s "Little Sister" then went on to the self-penned "In Love With You Baby" and followed with California rocker Jill Sharpe’s album title tune "Pet My Kitty"! After a round of applause she went into the ballad "If Love Was A Red Dress" from the movie ‘Pulp Fiction" and closed her set with Trains "Drops of Jupiter" one of this writers favorites! After another round of accolades from the interested audience local Air Force recruiter Sgt Dave O’Connell, sans uniform, stepped to the stage with acoustic electric and pulled off Metallica’s "Nothing Else Matters" and then "Outside" by Staind to the delight of the fans and audience, which by now had grown to well over 100 folks, Sarge
 then did
Nirvana’s "Where Did You Sleep Last Night" to close the set. After another short break blues/rocker Mark St John stepped to the stage w/his MusicMan fretless bass, along w/host Rob on acoustic/electric and Marshall Roote on a small array of hand drums backing local rocker favorite Freddie! Who, incidentally, came from his position working in the kitchen to rock everyone with his red Fender electric hollowbody guitar. He then proceeded to do tunes by Blink 182, Bon Jovi, and Greenday along with several of his own originals to close the show!! A great time was had by not only some interesting and fine musicians and the terrific audience attending the ‘BEST JAM IN THE NW’ , but also by the excellent crew of bartenders, servers, and management of the Trask brewery and restaurant in McMinnville! We all look fwd to returning next Thursday at 9pm to do it all over again! Hope to see everyone back there along with some new faces including YOURS!
