57 Prince-Arthur East, Montreal, QC, (514) 844-1010

Born Ted Horowitz in the Bronx in 1960, the imposing Popa Chubby is far
from being a blues purist. The "New York Blues" of this new millenium's
soulman is raw and funky urban music. Having grown up in the cultural
melting pot of the American megacity was clearly a factor. Chubby uses
the blues tradition as a basis for other influences such as rock, punk,
r&b, trip-hop, hip-hop and psychedelic. About his latest CD "The Good,
The Bad and The Chubby", Popa says: "It"s a reflection on love, life,
betrayal, diesel fuel, jet fuel, marriage, murder, stress and passion".
An intriguing man, to say the least.
