It just goes to show that you do not need a large repertoire
to display true talent.  'Fess was able to improvise every
time out with the same selection of songs and make them
sound new with each performance.

There are a handful of great artists who work in this same
manner today, just look at people like Pinetop Perkins and  
John Lee Hooker to name only two.


Just some indication of what kind of talent we are talking about. And really, he drew from
a fairly small pool of songs. Didn`t matter a whit!!  What a talent he was.
