There's no reason blues, or any other music, has to be TFL (too f---in'
loud). The greatest blues ever recorded is not particularly loud (e.g,.
Robert Johnson, early Muddy Waters, T-Bone Walker, Jimmy Reed etc etc
etc). Elvis Presley set the whole world on fire with his Sun sessions --
not loud at all, practically "folk music" by today's standards. The
worst offenders are excessively loud bass players -- too loud and
booming a bass muddies the entire sound, overwhelming even the
guitarist.
