Highway 49 Bridge Over Muddy Waters

I noticed many turtles trying to cross the road by the
Helena bridge in the 80's when the King Biscuit
Festival was still small and the casino wasn't yet
built. Later I began to see many smashed bodies.
I wonder if local environmentalists have determined
if that is a vital pathway - to get to breeding,egg-laying
grounds, etc.

One thing I have sadly noted in the Delta, even in towns,
is the bodies of run-over dogs lying in the streets.
I suspect there are no leash-laws.
